Will a damaged reputation and desire for society's approval thwart the legacy of grace?

Tainted by scandal and forced to leave London for the quieter Brighton countryside, the Honorable Miss Clara DeLancey is a shadow of her former society self. She's lost the man she loved to another and, in a culture that has no patience for self-pity, is struggling with depression. A chance encounter brings her a healing friendship with the sisters of an injured naval captain. But Clara's society mama is appalled at the new company she's keeping.

Captain Benjamin Kemsley is not looking for a wife. But his gallant spirit won't let him ignore the penniless viscount's daughter--not when she so obviously needs assistance to keep moving forward from day to day. Can he protect his heart and still keep her safe?

When they're pushed into the highest echelons of society at the Prince Regent's Brighton Pavilion, this mismatched couple must decide if family honor is more important than their hopes. Can they right the wrongs of the past and find future happiness together--without finances, family support, or royal favor?

The Dishonorable Miss DeLancey is full of the captivating, flawed characters, fascinating historical details, and masterful writing that Carolyn Miller's fans have come to know in The Elusive Miss Ellison and The Captivating Lady Charlotte. If you love Lori Wick, Georgette Heyer, and other clean, wholesome Regency romance, you'll love this third book in the Regency Brides: A Legacy of Grace series.

MY THOUGHTS
What a sense of heart the author, Ms. Miller brings to us. One living in the sheltered society world, the Honorable Ms. Clara DeLancey is now not so honorable. She is now living in a world of trying to live down the scandal she was involved int.  She went from the life in London to a subdued life in Brighton. Clara finds warmth and friendship with a couple of women she meets and  is in hopes of healing. But this makes her mother extremely upset. A captain knows Clara needs rescuing to find peace in her life, but she is now poor. He's not interested in any long term relationship. But this isn't entirely up to him. It's a matter of the heart, his heart and Clara's.

Will the two of them be able to find peace with the past? Will these two find happiness and will it be together? Two totally different people, can they find that middle ground?  The characters are far from perfect. They have their good and bad points. This could very well have been someone you would have known back in another time and place. The historical points are very well detailed so that you can visualize in your mind what is taking place. Often times we don't even think about what romantic and glorious time it was in Regency England. This book is more than just romance. It's got a bit of humor, a bit of wit and a dab of mystery. You will  love and be frustrated with some of the characters. You may want to  reach out and shake one character and another you may want to hug. This book gives us an element we don't often get in a romantic read and that is that sometimes lost human emotion of forgiveness. Perhaps not only enjoying the book but a lesson may be learned also.

Don't miss this book.  Step into a world where honorable goes to dishonorable and then back again.  A lovely emotional book.
